Monochrome Magic

Monochrome was one of s/s 13's top trends, and is one that lends itself perfectly to this time of year. Right now the days are warm, but the imminence of fall gets us thinking to the style season ahead, and, unlike many of the typical trends of warm weather style (neon brights, splashy floral prints), this stark, pared-down palette can easily cross over into autumn.

In the spirit of all things black-and-white, I'll leave you with this excerpt from a haunting little poem I came across in one of my old textbooks. Maybe it'll inspire you to try out this slick trend!

"A white well
In a black cave;
A bright shell
In a dark wave.

A white rose
Black brambles hood;
Smooth bright snows
In a dark wood.

...A bright spark
Where black ashes are;
In the smothering dark
One white star."
